What are Amorphous Materials

Amorphous Materials are a unique item, with all materials assigned numbers ranging 001-144.

Amorphous example

These materials can be obtained from missions such as:

Unlocking the rewards of Amorphous Materials

Reconstructed Device

However, these materials are useless by themselves, they require a Reconstructed Device , these are blue sphere-like mechanisms that appear after defeating a Colossi or Void Reactor Boss. It should be noted that each amorphous material has its own designated Reconstructed Device to be opened with, and that these Reconstructed Devices can only be used once per spawn.

Meaning for example:

  • If you use 1 Amorphous material at a Colossi, you cannot break down any more materials using that Reconstructed Device, You will need to defeat the Colossi again to break down another material.

Once the material has been broken down in a Reconstructed Device, you will receive an item from the drop-table of said item. If hovered over, the tooltip of said item will display the loot table, and it's % chances. Usually containing 5 rewards with the highest chance reward being around 35% and the rarest reward at a minor 2% chance rate.

Shape Stabilizers

Stabil Examp

You can however slightly adjust these % ratios to your advantage, if you say, want the 2% item, and don't want that 25% item, you can adjust them using the specified [[Shape Stabilizer]], when hovering over an amorphous material you can see a tool-tip button for Stabilization, [Default K key].

There it will display the needed Stabilization material (There are multiple), and the chances in %'s, usually reducing the drop rate of 35% -> 32%, the 2% -> 8%.

In the game's current state, getting Stabilization Material drops from missions are just as rare (2%) as the rarest item from the amorphous material.

IT IS HIGHLY SUGGESTED UNTIL ADJUSTED BY THE DEVELOPERS,

Do not pursue these stabilization materials, save yourself time, and just farm the amorphous materials. You have the same chance of getting a shape stabilizer to increase your %-chance of the rarest item (if that's what your going after) as you do to just get the rarest item with the material as is.

Numerically, you have a better chance, over a shorter period of time ignoring the Stabilization materials to get the rare item from the drop tables un-effected.
